Abstract | Mood profiling is used in Brazil for several purposes, including prevention of overtraining syndrome (Marques & Brandao, 2010; Rohlfs, Rotta et al, 2008), evaluating cardiac rehabilitation patients (Brandt et al., 2014; Sties et al., 2014), and monitoring preperformance moods of youth athletes (Verardi et al., 2018). The Brazil Mood Scale (BRAMS; Rohlfs, Terry et al., 2008) is a validated translation of the Brunel Mood Scale (BRUMS; Terry et al., 1999, 2003), a 24-item measure of six mood states (tension, depression, anger, vigour, fatigue, confusion). Using the BRAMS, we assessed the mood responses of 953 young Brazilian athletes (female = 483, male = 470; age range = 14-17 yr., M= 15.0 ± 1.2 yr.). All data were collected prior to Brazil being afflicted by the COVID-19 pandemic, |
