Abstract | Solar UV exposure is due to both direct and diffuse radiation, with the relative amounts of these influenced by factors in the natural and built environment. The UV spectrum and the relative changes compared to the full sun UV spectrum are investigated for the cases of transmission through glass, tree shade, built environment shade, reflection from building materials and different cloud conditions. The absorbances over the UV spectrum and the ultraviolet protection due to these factors are considered. |
