Abstract | The measured UV leakage, erythemal effective UV and UVA irradiances of a representative sample of sun-tanning units are currently used in commercial solaria establishments in South-East Queensland is reported. A broadband meter with calibrated erythemal UV and UVA sensors was employed to measure the erythemal UV and UVA irradiances at five points along the axis of sixty none sun-tanning units that comprised both lie-down and upright units. The leakage in each wavebound at a distance of 0.3m from each unit was also recorded. For these units the amount of signage to comply with the Australian/New Zealand Standard AS/NZS 2635:2002 was noted. |
