Abstract | When a high cadmium level is available in polluted soil, it can seriously affect plant growth and metabolic function. Data is scarce concerning on Cd toxicity to seeds germination. This experiment investigated nine level Cd impacted germination of 'Changhe', 'Hongkong', 'Taiwang selected', 'Taiwang', 'Pure green', and 'Slim leaf' ipomoea aquatica seeds. The results were that the 'Taiwang' breed germinated best with more than 95% under all levels, so it may be selected to restore the contaminated soil by Cd. Additionally, the 0.5mg·L and 1.0mg·L Cd levels were better for germination, however, higher concentration Cd would be toxic. |
