Abstract | Music is central to the identity and expression of Anglicanism in Queensland. At St John's, a musical culture has evolved from early colonial efforts to exactly replicate English models of choral worship to recent negotiations of English heritage and contemporary Australian idioms, with trailblazing musicians including the first female master of cathedral music in the British Empire. |
