Abstract | This chapter uses the album cover art of Johnny Winter's 'Second Winter' album [1969] to explore the pedagogical possibilities of utilizing everyday cultural artifacts to explore, amongst other things, the para-textual and public pedagogical functions of popular culture. In particular, Richard Avedon's photographic and album design work are drawn upon to enter the terrain of the [Neo] colonial appropriation of cultural forms [music] of the Other. |
