Abstract | This article aims to inform the reader about the variation detected in arbitrated restitution orders for unfairly dismissed workers according to gender and occupation in Australia. It is possible that the form and/or amount of restitution to workers may be reflecting occupational segregation, gender interaction effects at arbitration, labour market forces and different relational approaches to the employment relationship taken by men and women. The challenge of assembling the quantity of data pertaining to women at arbitration, to investigate this issue, is also discussed. |
