Abstract | In this paper, an automatic threshold selection for de-noising is presented. The heart sound extracted through an electronic stethoscope is transformed into frequency domain by Fast Fourier Transformation, and then the threshold selection is applied to it, so that unwanted noises can be separated from a combined set of noises. The noise was analysed by applying a random but suitable threshold point, the unwanted noise was eliminated and the sound was reconstructed. The preliminary results indicate that the technique applied is effective in that the reconstructed noise appears to be providing a better quality of heart noise. |
