Abstract | This paper considers a new New Zealand preventive detention regime whereby an offender thought likely to re-offend once released may be locked up for a further period. It considers the New Zealand law in light of comparable regimes elsewhere, and its compatibility with the New Zealand Bill of Rights Act 1990. |
