Abstract | Corporations are increasingly seeking to engage in public debates on contentious matters of public policy. Regardless of whether or not one agrees with particular positions taken, the question arises as to whether officers of corporations that devote resources in making such contributions are acting in accordance with their obligations under corporations legislation. This question has not been considered in depth in Australian case law to date, but it will no doubt come before the courts at some stage. |
