Abstract | A Standing Committee is currently considering possible reform to Australia's uniform defamation laws. In this article, reform of the existing multiple publication rule is proposed, on the basis that the existing rule raises the spectre of multiple law suits over many years based on the one publication. This defeats the purpose of limitation periods and potentially prolongs litigation indefinitely. |
