Abstract

The application of performance science modalities such as GPS tracking, sleep profiles, monitoring general wellbeing and musculoskeletal testing has often been said to be critical in safeguarding the athlete’s fitness. While performance science isn’t going to give you all the answers, it will lead you to the right questions to ask. What performance science technology hopes to provide coaches and athletes is a means to better understand to their bodies needs so that they can perform and recover optimally. As such, many teams have turned to hi-tech equipment to ensure their most important players are not burnt out on the eve of the finals.
