Abstract | Drawing from over two decades of pioneering work in global education and recent research into online collaborative learning, this presentation introduces the concept of Cosmogogy - a new framework for understanding learning in our interconnected world. Beginning with early experiences in Bangladesh that broke through the "tyranny of distance" in education, the journey traces the evolution of global collaborative learning through multiple international contexts. The presentation introduces the Global Collaborator Mindset (GCM) model, which identifies four key attributes - connection, openness, autonomy, and innovation - essential for educators in today's globally connected classrooms. Building on this foundation, a new Human-AI-World ecosystem model is proposed, examining the dynamic interactions between human learning communities, artificial intelligence, and real-world contexts. This framework offers fresh perspectives on how we might reimagine education for an era where learning transcends traditional boundaries. The session concludes with practical implications for educational leadership, teacher development, and future research directions in this rapidly evolving landscape. Discussion Prompts: 1. How does Cosmogogy challenge our current institutional structures? 2. What role should AI play in curriculum design and delivery? 3. How can we maintain human agency while leveraging AI capabilities? 4. What are the key barriers to implementing Cosmogogical approaches? 5. How might assessment and evaluation need to change? 6. What skills do educators need to develop to thrive in this ecosystem? |
