Abstract | The hospitality sector is becoming increasingly knowledge intensive, yet we lack sufficient empirical examination of the effects of a broad set of knowledge process and knowledge content dimensions on the competitiveness of hospitality firms. Moreover, we lack understanding of how IT resources interact with knowledge process and content to influence performance. This paper draws on the knowledge-based and resource-based views of the firm to develop a model of the effects of selected dimensions of knowledge process, knowledge content and IT resources on the competitiveness of hospitality organisations. A study is proposed to test the model within the South African and Australian contexts. |
