Description of Exhibition/Event | Antipods: Magical Creatures with Backward Feet is a collaborative research project between the University of Saskatchewan, Canada and USQ. The exhibition is curated by Professor Susan Shantz (UofS) and Dr Beata Batorowicz (USQ) with the assistant curatorship of Linda Clark (USQ). Antipods was first showcased at two galleries simultaneously in Canada: the Department of Art and Art History's Gordon Snelgrove Gallery and the artist-run centre, AKA in Saskatoon. Subsequently the exhibition travelled to the Art Gallery of Swift Current in July 2015. The project exemplifies an innovative cross-university studio curriculum through a mentoring approach that builds career profiles for undergraduate and postgraduate art researchers from both universities. The cross-institutional collaboration included Dr Batorowicz visiting the UofS campus in July 2015, under the Canadian Interdisciplinary Centre for Culture and Creativity (ICCC) fellowship.
