| Abstract | How can schools contribute to equitable, preventive mental health care for children? This presentation explores value-based care as a framework for designing school-based supports that prioritise early intervention, meaningful outcomes, and cross-sector collaboration. We present findings from a pragmatic trial of the Trauma-Informed Behaviour Support (TIBS) program implemented in Queensland schools. The trial examined changes in student behaviour, emotional regulation, and educator confidence. Early results suggest potential for school-based models to reduce mental health burden and support recovery. Key challenges include sustainability, cultural relevance, and integration with service systems. We outline future research directions to strengthen value-based approaches in child mental health prevention. |
