Abstract | The recent paper by Wiegmann et al. (2010) provides a comprehensive literature review of the main disruption factors impacting upon cardiac surgical performance. This paper identifies events not been explicitly addressed in Wiegmann et al.'s study. These events are directly related to ergonomics and mainly result from failure to follow the principles of work design (motion economy and methods study). |
