Abstract | This paper initially discusses the competency requirements of local authority personnel responsible for Engineering Asset Management (EAM) within Australian local authorities. The paper then discusses the journey of current PhD research being undertaken to develop a new conceptual framework to support these local authority personnel in Australian local authorities. Through the use of this proposed conceptual framework, the research knowledge of the competencies necessary to support the use of emerging technology within local authorities, will be further enhanced through tailored educational/professional development/learning opportunities. |
