Biography
Dr Mark Toleman is Professor of Information Systems in the School of Business at the University of Southern Queensland. Professor Toleman is Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Member of the Association for Information Systems, Member of the Australian Computer Society and Emeritus Member of the Association of Australian University Secretaries. He was Professor and Head of the School of Information Systems, Faculty of Business and Law at USQ from 2007-2013. From 2006-2012 he was also Chair, Academic Board at USQ. He was Director of the e-Business Advisory and Research Centre at USQ from 2003-2005 and from 2000-2006 he was Associate Professor and Deputy Chair, Academic Board. Professor Toleman has a PhD in computer science from the University of Queensland and a MSc in mathematics from James Cook University. He was President and Past President of the Australian Council of Professors and Heads of Information Systems (2009-2014). Professor Toleman has published over 190 peer reviewed articles in areas ranging from information systems to human-computer interaction to agricultural science. His research interests are broad and include policy evaluation, university governance, community support tool development, information technology service management (ITSM), information technology governance, design science, agile system development methodologies, the researcher-practitioner nexus, Human-Computer Interaction, usability, e-business, etc. He also remains interested in software tool design, development and evaluation (and he really likes snow skiing and cruising).
