Abstract | This paper focuses on providing a rationale for the development of a conceptual sport sustainability framework for local government in Australia. The framework will assist decision makers to meet the requirements of sustainability in sport development investments and to appropriately consider the complex needs of stakeholders in community sport development. Issues associated with funding for sport development in Australia are discussed and the challenges associated with administering government funding at the regional level are identified. |
