Abstract | Silicon monoxide (SiO) has emerged as one promising anode material for lithium-ion battery owing to its high theoretical capacity and relatively small volume change compared with silicon based anode. However, poor conductivity extremely restricts its specific capacity and cycling stability of SiO, C-SiO is most considered to be addressed this issue. Despite that, the effect of the orderly arrangements of carbon coatings on the overall electrochemical performance of SiO anode remains unclear. It is more important to explore the structure of carbon coatings on the electrochemical properties of silicon based anode. Herein, we have much improved orderly array of carbon coatings for C-SiO by introducing 3% TiO2, and evidenced by Raman spectroscopy and HRTEM. The electrochemical results show that the TC-SiO with 3% TiO2 exhibits striking advantages in cycling stability, high rate charge/discharge and interfacial stability properties compared with C-SiO with disorder carbon coatings. This work provides a new strategy for further improving conductivity and interfacial stability of C-Si based anode materials. |
