Abstract | Constructivist and narrative approaches to career counselling have emerged as viable practical alternatives to traditional models. This paper describes the development of a career counselling assessment process that is based upon notions derived from constructivism, narrative, and systems theory. The technique utilises a sentence-completion method to facilitate clients' exploration of personal career systems. Evaluation of the technique indicates that clients experienced a positive reaction and no negative reaction to the process. Furthermore, there was tentative evidence that it may impact upon the positive expectations for their career counselling. |
