Abstract | Policy makers in Australia have recognised the benefits of older workers for at least 20 years. Baby boomers in particular (i.e. those born between 1946 and 1964) have been at the centre of attention. In line with other developed countries, the Australian economy cannot afford the cost of retirement of these workers neither in terms of a reduced labour pool nor in social security expenditure. |
