Abstract | Technology has become so pervasive and intertwined in daily life that it is often taken for granted. Although the functionality of technology is paramount to the consumer, the importance of product design has also increasingly become apparent and ultimately affects the choices a consumer makes. Design elements such as line, colour, shape, tone and texture are carefully considered by designers when creating numerous products and are also increasingly being utilised to enhance the appearance of these products. This paper explores the value of using design elements and principles in conjunction with information and communication technology (ICT) in the classroom to enhance the functionality, useability and appearance of technology products produced by students. |
