Abstract | An overview of research conducted on the teaching styles employed by Australian Junior Tennis Coaches based on the Spectrum of Teaching Styles. The research involved a survey questionnaire, systematic observation and coding of coaching sessions and interviews with selected coaches. 208 tennis coaches were surveyed and 12 were observed. The results indicated that tennis coaches do not use a range of teaching styles and most teaching was restricted to Command Style-A and Practice Style-B from the Spectrum. |
