Abstract | The Spectrum of Teaching Styles began in 1966 with Muska Mosston and has been refined and developed further through the association of Mosston with Sarah Ashworth. The Spectrum of Teaching Styles is a widely recognised and acknowledged body of work in physical education and sports coaching. The Spectrum of Teaching Styles was based on the premise that teaching is a chain of decision making, i.e., who makes the decisions and when and what are the intentions or purpose of those decisions. This overview presents a basic understanding of the background, components and use of the Spectrum. |
